Winter Textures
Visual texture, to me, describes the interplay of contrasting lines and patterns that create a sense of depth and tension in mind. So when I'm out, swinging my camera around towards whatever catches my eye, it could easily be something as simple as a heavily repetitious groomed show trail or as wildly complex as an overturned tree's rootball.
I do often have to stop, slow down, reframe my view, and consciously seek out these "micro scenes," delicate and often missed vignettes of motion, time, and stasis.
Here are a few (re)frames that caught my eye in my photo library today from winter ventures.
All of these are available as prints over on my SmugMug website, too!
Enjoy!
